We consider both your immediate needs and your longer-term learning goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The following examples give you an overview of the different possibilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Learning German Systematically \u2013 From A1 to C2<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Whether you are learning German from scratch or would like to build on your existing knowledge, we develop a clearly structured learning plan tailored to your current level, pace and goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We combine grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation with listening and reading comprehension, speaking and writing. New language structures are explained clearly and practised through suitable exercises and communication activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Complete beginners are very welcome. Especially at the beginning, I can also explain grammar or discuss practical questions in English if needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Speaking German More Confidently and Fluently<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you would like to speak German with greater confidence, spontaneity and fluency, one-to-one lessons offer plenty of room for conversation. The topics reflect your interests, everyday life and personal learning goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The aim is not simply to speak as much as possible. If you wish, I provide targeted feedback on vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation and expression. Together, we decide how often and how thoroughly to address language difficulties, based on your personal preferences and learning goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Depending on your wishes, we can focus on free-flowing conversations with minimal interruptions or spend more time on intensive practice, examining specific language difficulties and working systematically on your speaking skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This helps you gradually develop greater fluency, express your ideas more precisely and feel more confident in a range of conversations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Intensive and Focused Learning<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sometimes you may have a specific goal approaching and limited time to prepare for it in German \u2013 for example, an exam, the start of your studies, a career change or a job interview.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In these situations, we identify your priorities together and develop a learning plan based on your available time and current German skills. We adapt materials, exercises and, where scheduling allows, the frequency of lessons to your needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We focus on the language skills that are particularly important for your individual goal, while making sure that each step builds on what you already know and supports your longer-term language development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Preparation for German Language Examinations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I support learners preparing for general, academic and professional German language examinations. Depending on your goals, these may include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Goethe-Zertifikat exams from A1 to C2<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>telc German language examinations, including telc Deutsch C1 Hochschule<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Deutsch-Test f\u00fcr Zuwanderer (DTZ)<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>TestDaF and Deutsche Sprachpr\u00fcfung f\u00fcr den Hochschulzugang (DSH)<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Medical German language examinations, particularly the Fachsprachpr\u00fcfung (FSP) for doctors<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Together, we explore the structure, requirements and task types of your examination. We practise individual exam components, develop suitable strategies and can carry out realistic mock examinations if you wish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Time management, organisational questions and ways of dealing constructively with exam-related stress can also be part of the preparation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For university-related examinations, we may focus on academic vocabulary, listening and reading comprehension, writing and speaking. Lessons focus on your individual needs and the specific language challenges you encounter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We can use textbooks, school or university materials, and your own assignments as a starting point. Depending on your needs, we may work on vocabulary, grammar, reading comprehension, writing skills or expressing ideas and arguments clearly and precisely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For university students, exploring typical features of academic German can also be helpful, for example when reading specialised texts or improving the language used in their own writing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you are interested in German-language literature, we can also read and discuss literary texts together, exploring their language, content and distinctive features.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Medical German for Healthcare Professionals<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I support doctors and other healthcare professionals in developing the German language skills they need for effective communication in their professional lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lessons focus on typical language challenges in medical settings, such as taking medical histories, explaining medical information to patients, informed-consent discussions, patient handovers and professional communication with colleagues. Written communication and documentation, such as drafting medical letters, can also be part of the lessons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you are preparing for a medical German language examination, we can practise typical exam situations and carry out realistic role plays. We focus on medical vocabulary, linguistic accuracy and communicating confidently and appropriately in different situations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lessons are tailored to your current German level, professional requirements and individual learning goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">German for Work and Professional Life<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In work-related one-to-one lessons, we focus on the language skills you need in your professional life or would like to develop for future career opportunities. Lessons and materials are tailored as closely as possible to your field of work, professional responsibilities and personal learning goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Depending on your needs, we can develop job-specific vocabulary, practise typical workplace conversations, work on emails and other professional texts, or prepare presentations and job interviews. Targeted preparation for professional language examinations is also possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The aim is not only to improve linguistic accuracy but also to help you communicate confidently, appropriately and independently in different professional situations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How Do I Teach?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is important to me that you not only learn language rules but also have plenty of opportunities to use German yourself. I therefore combine clear explanations with focused exercises, conversations and tasks that suit your learning goals. Grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and the different language skills are integrated wherever possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I use both established teaching methods and digital learning materials and tools. The approach we take depends on what you are currently working towards and what kind of support is most helpful to you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I aim to create an open and supportive learning environment where you feel comfortable asking questions, trying out new things and learning from mistakes. We can adapt the pace and focus of our lessons as needed while keeping your long-term language development in mind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span id=\"qualification\">Qualifications and Experience<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My teaching background is based on university-level teacher education in German and biology, which I completed with the First State Examination (<em>Erstes Staatsexamen<\/em>) for teaching at <em>Gymnasien<\/em> and <em>Gesamtschulen<\/em> in Germany. I also successfully completed the Goethe-Institut\u2019s <em>Deutsch Lehren Lernen<\/em> (DLL) teacher training programme and have many years of experience teaching German to adults online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My professional background also includes research-related work in evidence-based medicine. After completing vocational training in medical documentation, I worked as a research staff member in a Cochrane Collaboration research group at University Hospital Cologne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My responsibilities included designing and conducting systematic literature searches, providing editorial support to international review authors and contributing to scientific systematic reviews. In this context, I contributed as a co-author to the development of an S3 medical guideline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I have also completed specialised training in teaching medical German and obtained certification as an instructor in the field of German for medical professionals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This combination of teacher training, extensive teaching experience and work with scientific information shapes my approach to teaching German today. I place particular importance on structuring language learning clearly, explaining concepts in an accessible way and tailoring lessons to each learner\u2019s individual goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">German is my native language. I can also use English for explanations when needed, particularly with beginners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Booking Information<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A directly booked online one-to-one lesson lasts <strong>50 minutes and currently costs \u20ac40<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For new lesson agreements made directly with me, participation in my owlviews Academy is part of the arrangement. The Academy provides a digital learning environment with additional materials and learning opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Academy Basic fee is <strong>\u20ac5 per week<\/strong> if no lessons are booked during that week. If you book at least one lesson with me in a given week, this fee is waived entirely.
